Day 1 - "La Isla Bonita"
On arrival at Belize International Airport connect with a short (15 minute)
air taxi with spectacular aeriel views of the Belize Barrier Reef en route
to San Pedro on the lovely island of
Ambergris Caye - made famous by Madonna in her song "La Isla
Bonita" - "The Beautiful Island". You will be met on arrival at San Pedro airstrip and transferred to the hotel by boat.
A welcome Tropical Cocktail will be awaiting your arrival at the idyllic Portofino where you can relax and unwind during your 3 night stay. Portofino is an exclusive and luxurious resort located on the Caribbean shore overlooking the fabulous Belize Barrier Reef and is certainly one of the finest establishments on Ambergris Caye.
Situated on a secluded stretch of perfectly manicured beautiful beach just 5 miles north of the island village of San Pedro, Portofino is reached by boat in about 15 minutes. 
Included at your stay at Portofino is Continental Breakfast every day and also free use of Water Sports Equipment available on site.
We have not included other meals on this part of the tour so that you have the freedom to eat where you want, when you want.
Enjoy a Belikin Beer in any number of beachfront hang-outs and thatched roof bars or a gourmet dinner in a first class restaurant. Do it all or do nothing at all on this sun-drenched island where even the palm trees sway to the beat of Punta Rock and Reggae music! |

Day 4 - Off to the Rainforest - Wildlife and Waterfalls ... (D)
This morning you will take a short flight back to Belize City where you will be met on arrival and transferred up the Western Highway to the beautiful rainforest area of San Ignacio near the Guatemalan border with a stop along the way at the small and informal Belize Zoo. Next a visit will be made to Xunantunich which is reached by crossing the Mopan River by hand-cranked ferry. 
Whilst Europe was deep in the "Dark Ages", the inhospitable and hostile jungles of Central
America were being transformed into the home of one of the World's great civilisations.
Temples, Pyramids and Palaces were built by peasant farmers and slaves without the benefit
of beasts of burden or even the wheel. These were painted in the sacred colours of the
Maya; red, blue, yellow and green and were ruled over by immensely powerful Kings who
were regarded as living Gods by their subjects.
You will explore the realms of the mysterious Maya people as you visit Belize's favourite ancient Mayan site in the company of an expert guide. Xunantunich is reached by crossing the Mopan River by hand-cranked ferry. After the guided tour there will be time to explore and climb the ruins which are great for panoramic photographs. Continue by road to the Moutain Pine Ridge for a four night stay at the wonderful mountain retreat, Hidden Valley Inn.

Hikes range from the short 45 minute Mot-mot Trail to all day excursions of varying difficulty. The complimentary use of full suspension, 21 speed mountain bikes is included in your stay. ROMANTIC / HONEYMOON SPECIAL: During your stay at Hidden Valley Inn we have arranged for you to have your own private waterfall and natural swimming pool for the day including lunch. For your comfort there is a screened Palapa equiped with hammocks, a table and comfortable chairs. There is even a flush toilet!. Tubes are provided for you to float around in the pool and downstream. A kayak is based at the top of the falls for you to explore up-river. Or just relax and enjoy each other's company in paradise!

Day 8 - Take the Hummingbird Highway to Paradise!
Morning transfer - through beautiful jungle scenery - down the most scenic road in Belize, The Hummingbird Highway past the Citrus Plantations of the Stann Creek Valley to - a hidden beach location in southern Belize - The Perfect Paradise!   
3 night stay at the luxurious Kanantik on the edge of the Caribbean. Kanantik is a unique high-end resort, able to offer privacy, luxury, first class service, and excellent cuisine. 
Accommodation is in a beachside, fully air conditioned, private thatched roof cabaña with wrap-around deck.
Each cabaña comes with either a king size or two full twin four post beds.
Miles of natural sandy beach, a wilderness of coral-studded cayes, nearby jungle rivers, pristine rainforest, Garifuna, Creole and Mayan cultures, and ancient Mayan ruins makes this natural area the ideal location for the adventurous traveler. Southern Belize is still relatively undeveloped, making it a paradise for the nature lover. Snorkel and dive the uncrowded, pristine reef, fish the rivers and flats, kayak the mangroves in the lovely lagoon, hike the Cockscomb Jaguar Preserve, or just grab a hammock and relax on the beach! We have not included meals at Kanantik but you can add a Meal Plan or All-Inclusive package if you wish. The Meal Plan includes three meals, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner daily. Day 11 - Departure Unfortunately it is time to go home although extra nights can easily be added! Transfer to the Kanantik Airstrip (Fri-Mon) or Dangriga Airstrip (Tues-Thurs) for your flights back to Belize International. |
