Hidden Valley Inn, a luxury hotel with only 12 cottages is located on a 7200 acres private reserve in the Mountain Pine Ridge area of Belize. This small eco resort provides a place where you can enjoy the simple pleasures of quality accommodation, fine food and attentive service and where you can walk into a world unspoiled by man and experience a unique contact with nature. The flora, wildlife and birding here are like no place on earth.
Guests staying at this small luxury hotel enjoy exclusive access to 90 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails as well as many secluded pools and waterfalls set in tropical rainforest. For those seeking romance, use of one of the waterfalls may be reserved exclusively for the day.
The spacious hand-laid marle daub cottages are conveniently spaced to provide privacy and the feeling of solitude while still having easy access to the central Lodge which houses a bar, restaurant and several lounges. Each cottage has a full private bathroom with a combination tub/shower arrangement. Rich Mexican quarry tiles and attractive scatter rugs cover the floors. The rooms have a vaulted ceiling complete with fan and screened louvered windows in each wall to provide ample movement of air to keep the rooms very comfortable. For cool days and nights there is a fireplace to ward off the chill with a cozy fire. Each room has either one queen bed or twin beds, a mahogany writing desk with a table lamp, two lounge chairs, and a large closet.
The generator provides 110-volt electricity from 6:00 AM until 10:00 PM. There are 12 volt bedside table lamps and bath night-lights to provide guests with back-up lighting. The absence of any ground lights once the generator is turned off makes the night in the Pine Ridge very dark and the millions of stars look extremely close and bright.
The Main House is the "heart" of the Inn. It has been converted from the original homestead and reflects the graciousness of a high-country lodge with its vaulted ceilings, exotic tropical cypress paneled walls and four fireplaces. Our guests enjoy meeting new friends in the relaxed, "house party" atmosphere. The three lounges and bar provide ample area to gather before dinner with a cocktail and share information with one another on the adventures of the day, or to settle quietly in a comfortable chair in one of the lounges to read or watch the undisturbed antics of the acorn woodpeckers and hummingbirds.
The dining room is located in the Lodge and serves delicious full course meals. Breakfast starts with our own Hidden Valley Inn Coffee, which is grown and roasted on the property. Freshly baked banana or cinnamon bread and an assortment of fresh fruits are on the buffet, followed by a full hot breakfast. Most guests take a picnic lunch, but there is always the option of having lunch in the dining room. In the evening, the dining room is set with white linen, stemmed crystal, fresh flowers and candlelight to create a most pleasant atmosphere for our delicious three course meals. When the weather is fine we also offer outdoor dining on the pool terrace. The service by attentive Mayan staff is unforgettable; they will charm you with their willingness to provide anything you need
Adjacent to the Lodge is our up-to-date office with the latest communication equipment; telephone, fax, email and radio, so you won't be out-of-touch if someone needs to find you. Guests can obtain a trail map of the property from the office and set out on their own with a picnic to experience some of the most spectacular vistas on earth, or you can simply relax by the pool and jacuzzi.
