Nestled between the lush Maya Mountains and the turquoise Caribbean Sea, Jaguar Reef Resort OR Hamanasi Resort
are two special places to choose from. You can explore
the best of Belize on and offshore.
These two secluded, intimate resorts located just south of Hopkins on the Caribbean Sea beachfront surrounded by sub-tropical flora on the finest stretch of beach in Belize. You will enjoy your stay in spacious, casually elegant accommodations. All rooms feature air conditioning, ceiling fans, gorgeous Belizean hardwood furniture, colorfully tiled bathrooms and private porches. |
COCKSCOMB JAGUAR RESERVE
During your stay you will enjoy a fabulous Day Trip to the Cockscomb Jaguar Reserve, the worlds first sanctuary
created specifically for the elusive jaguar and other rare species like the red eye tree frog. Puma, ocelot, jaguarundi and margay also have their
homes and hunting grounds inside the reserve. The howler monkey’s roar is heard often and there are almost 500 species of birds, including
the curassow and the keel-billed toucan that can be seen here. The Sanctuary is a protected subtropical rain forest surrounded by the Maya Mountains with the highest point being Victoria Peak.
You will stop to see birds, the banana plantation and the Maya Crafts Center on the way. Then hike the subtropical jungle trails in search of the jaguar. Your guide leads the way pointing out jungle plants and animals under the green canopy. A cool jungle waterfall is a welcome sight after lunch, so bring your suit for a swim before the ride home. |
