Mata Chica Beach Resort is a secluded and elegant resort situated on the lovely island of Ambergris Caye.

All twelve casitas, and two luxury villas are sponge painted outside by the French artist, Dumas, who is hand painting murals and designs on the interior walls.

The grand Lobby flows with a superior quality sound system into the vast "Mambo" dining room filled with paintings, hardwood furniture, candelabras, ceramic treasures and exotic Belizean vases. There is also a wide assortment of souvenirs you can buy from our Gift Shop.

The "Mambo Restaurant" is already a sensation. Italian Chefs prepare fine International and Italian Cuisine. They have their very own garden at ther Resort from where the Chef gathers fresh vegetables and herbs daily. The Owners will host you every evening to a fine dining experience.

The atmosphere of Mata Chica is very much in harmony with the surrounding sea and palms; but at the same time it is contemporary and luxurious.

The clear waters of the Caribbean will fill your soul with a sense of freedom and relaxation in the barefoot village. Mata Chica is very fortunate to have what many consider to be the finest pearly white beach along the coast of Ambergris Caye.


Everything begins along the barrier Reef with incredible day and night dives and a trip to the amazing "Blue Hole" for the adventurous. Or a wildlife jungle Excursion, River trips to Mayan Ruins, Kayaking, Windsurfing or Snorkeling with Stingrays and Nurse Sharks. Fish the Flats for Tarpon and the Elusive Bonefish or Deep Sea Fishing for Marlin and Sailfish.

Room Information
Sample the flavor of the Beachfront Casitas, the Sea-View Suites, the Sea-View Bungalows and Luxury Caribbean Villas. Rates are quoted in U.S. $ per room and include Continental breakfast and transfers from the airport in San Pedro. Children admitted over 10 years. Kayaks and Windsurfs available free of charge. Dive, watersport and mainland tours can be arranged.

The latest addition is the incredible Beach Mansion, offering 5000 sq ft of artistically designed pure luxury. Three sumptuous bedrooms, including a top floor master bedroom with its own private sun patio with breathtaking panoramic view, three full bathrooms with very spacious jungle rain showers big enough for two, grand living area with entertainment center and kitchenette, as well as a very large outdoor verandah create the perfect surroundings for a group of up to six persons. With two additional single beds it can accommodate up to eight persons. Intercom service for front desk, room service, your butler and maid. Rates include full American breakfast daily in your villa or at our Mambo Restaurant.
