|In the Cayo Region in Western Belize
|Black Rock River Lodge is cradled in green, perched on a hill above the Macal River south of San Ignacio in Black Rock Canyon. A more beautiful and tranquil spot you may never find.. .|
Imagine: Horseback riding, birding, and hiking on jungle trails… Escaping reality at secluded Vaca Falls or enjoying the sun on our sandy river-beaches... Climbing through pottery strewn Mayan caves… Exploring Maya Temples... Swimming and Canoeing in pristine spring fed rivers...
Or simply relaxing in a hammock with a gorgeous view of towering limestone cliffs, overlooking the Macal River, lush tropical jungle, and all that while sipping on an ice-cold local beer or fresh fruit punch!
Nestled high above the pristine Macal River and surrounded by the rugged Maya mountains and over 50,000 acres of lush tropical rainforest reserve, Black Rock River Lodge is in the most incredible location in Belize!
With over a mile of river frontage on the Macal and 250 acres of private jungle estate, Black Rock River Lodge is a safe haven for guests.
The rustic open-air bar and dining room is exotically appointed with a native black slate floor and a huge circular palm-thatched roof offering spectacular views of Black Rock falls and canyon and is a great place to relax and gaze out on the river.
Delicious family-style meals range from tasty local dishes to international cuisine! Fresh coffee, fruits, and vegetables are grown organically at Black Rock River Lodge. Meat eaters and vegetarians alike are astounded by the variety of recipes and ability to cater to their needs. Tropical bug free days and cool mountain nights add extra enjoyment to your adventure vacation at Black Rock Lodge, Belize!
Black Rock River Lodge is environmentally friendly, using solar power to generate electricity (110V) mainly for lighting. The 12 bungalows are kept impeccably clean and are tastefully designed to be comfortable, romantic, and very private.
All the cabanas have excellent views of Black Rock Canyon, cliffs, the Macal River, and surrounding jungle and mountains!
Deluxe Cabanas are the largest and most nicely appointed of all the cabanas. With a spacious interior, two queen size beds, a hardwood writing desk, and a large clean bathroom complete with hardwood cabinetry, Deluxe Cabanas are comfortable, romantic and private.
Private Bath Cabanas are similar to Deluxe Cabanas in that they have an indoor flush toilet and hot shower. They have a queen size bed and a double bed. They are comfortable and private.
Shared Bath Cabanas are private but are more basic and rustic than the Private Bath Cabanas. A family or couple staying in one Shared Bath Cabana does not share the room, shower, or toilet with any other guests. Shared Bath Cabanas are called such for two reasons: instead of a flush toilet guests use an eco-outhouse toilet and it's a short walk to the solar heated shower. The shower and toilet are private and are only used by the rest of your group who are with you in your Shared Bath Cabana
In the path of the Mayan Rain God is a land forgotten in time… a mountainous rainforest region fed by powers of nature beyond imagination… a place where a description of a thousand words or a hundred pictures would only cast a ripple on the surface of a jade-green river so pure as to have been made in heaven itself. This is the edge of civilization. This is Black Rock River Lodge, Belize.
