Of the 4 rooms on the main level, Michael's Room is a favorite with honeymoon couples who think the Victorian iron four-poster bed, with it's eyelet canopy, inspires a dash of vintage romance. Honeymooners are also welcomed with a crystal glass tray holding a pair of goblets and a decanter of Alan's home vinted fruit wine - the perfect nightcap to insure a blissful night's rest.
Michael's very own teddy bear adorns the white wicker love seat. A patch work quilt and a framed memento from the Boston museum pick up the hues in the coordinated wall colours which are topped off with a refreshing, muted, floral border. |
Alan's Room offers the grandeur of the Victorian Era, with a sumptuous queen four poster bed and single bed, this stately bedroom makes guests feel as if they have slipped into another time. The ornate embossed wall covering with it's unexpected colour combination of Victorian White and Iron Grey makes a dramatic decorating statement and, when added to the delicate touches of lace and elegant furniture, creates a setting that you will yearn to retreat to every night. The overstuffed rocker recliner, illuminated by an old fashioned lamp, adds a charming touch that provides the perfect place to curl up and escape to, with a good novel. |
Ondina's Room room is full of delightful surprises. From it's queen size mahogany bed personally hand crafted by Alan several years ago, to it's nostalgic collection of whimsical knick-knacks and relaxing rocking chair it gives a time worn feel that one associates with being at home.
The Old fashioned, vivid floral pattered, wall covering adds a sense of Victorian elegance to the setting. |
Sean's Room could be described as the prettiest in the house. It is a lovely combination of embossed wallpaper, plush coverlets and rugs in captivating hues that encircle the fanciful keepsakes and handcrafted and painted furniture. It can accommodate three people with it's double bed and day bed.
The large louvered window overlooks Sonia's garden. A small, private verandah with intimate seating for two, provides an enclave of peace and gives the perfect finishing touch to this delightful room. |
Sonia's Room, also known as the "Garden room", is at ground level, with cable television, refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster and coffee and tea pots and is ideal for a longer stay. It has one double bed and is decorated in subtle "Laura Ashley " style. The low beamed ceiling evokes an appealing cottage charm to this dainty room as does the private, tropical garden that it shares with Jennifer's room. The treasured showpiece of garden is an intimate, rustic, bower adorned with beautiful flowering vines. The profusion of flora and fauna make this sweet retreat simply irresistible and beckons it's guests to linger all day long. |
