You will find most of the comforts of home like lights (most of the time), and telephone. Computer, email and fax also available for those of you who can't quite get away completely, or for the student doing a project on one of our many cultures and natural wonders.
Sea Turtles - The HAWKSBILL and LOGGERHEAD sea turtles selected our
shore long before us as a pristine nesting area. Nesting and hatch numbers are
increasing due to continued conservation and protection efforts. During the May
through November 1996 season, 10,000 BABY TURTLES reached the sea. The Hawksbill
is currently on the endangered species list.
Rivers and Lagoons by Boat or Canoe - Experience the sights, sounds
and smell of the jungle while drifting a winding stream by canoe, not knowing
what awaits around the next bend or boat excursions that take you to hidden
regions where you can explore underground limestone caverns containing evidence
of the ancient MAYA who once dwelt there. MANY species of birds, plants and
wildlife will keep your camera busy.
Fishing - Our rivers and lagoons host a wide variety of fighting
portfish. You will never forget the feel and thrill of a SNOOK screaming for the
mangroves or the frantic reeling as your TARPON breaks the surface in a
beautiful tail-dance.
Diving and Snorkeling - Visit a small deserted island on top of the
worlds 2nd longest barrier reef. SNORKEL through spectacular LIVING CORAL
formations with reef fish every color of the rainbow or slip over and descend
along majestic walls in the awesome world of SCUBA DIVING.
About the Guides - Our local ADVENTURE guides are all native to the
area. This, combined with formal training and certification, ensures that all
your adventures will be fun, informative, well organized, and SAFE. Things in
nature are always changing and our guides will tell you, Expect the

Manatee - The
Southern Lagoon and Manatee River are home and breeding grounds to the "LARGEST
POPULATION OF MANATEE IN THE CARIBBEAN". Sightings are common and frequent at
all times of the year.
